Helping the Client to find the answers for themselves.

Mentoring helps to develop the client as an individual based on who they are and what they want.

The mentor's role is to help their client find their true self; to experience their own attempts, failures and successes. When this happens, the client learns to develop their own strengths and awareness of their potential.

The difference in being a mentor rather than a coach is that the client is happy with their job / role, but needs a little help to gain confidence, and awareness as how to develop their role as their own.

Mentoring can also be used by students in order to gain confidence in their ability to get their qualification.
